Types of Wax
Stuck on which candle wax type to opt for? Consider this a helping hand
-
Paraffin wax
The most commonly used, the OG if you will. Paraffin wax holds a lot of fragrance, is super affordable and casts stronger scents. Although, it’s not eco-friendly so if that’s a must for you, check out your other options.
-
Soy wax
Natural, vegan, eco-friendly. Cue soy wax. It burns slow and clean and holds fragrances well. It’s usually a bit pricier and harder to find in a range of colours but don’t let that stop you.
-
Beeswax
Beeswax (yes, it actually comes from bees) is a natural wax made during the honey-making process. It’s been around for thousands of years and is said to purify the air, which is always a winner.
-
Rapeseed wax
Similar to soy wax, rapeseed (or canola) wax is a great choice if you’re looking for versatility and holding scent. It also has a low carbon footprint and is 100% vegan. Tick, tick, tick!

Choosing the right scent for each room
This is *very* important business. Why? 'Cause choosing the right scent for each room in your house can totally enhance the atmosphere and create a welcoming vibe. To help make your house the talk of the town, here are some home fragrance recommendations for different rooms...
-
Living room
Friends, in-laws or hot date coming over? Fret not! Vanilla, sandalwood, amber and cinnamon candle scents will make any living room feel more inviting. They help create a cosy, comfortable atmosphere – exactly what you want for when your guests arrive.
-
Bathroom
Basic bathroom? Never heard of it. A few scent-sational candles = the ultimate upgrade. Eucalyptus and mint home fragrances will make your bathroom feel like a fancy spa, while green tea and sea breeze scents can help maintain a clean and refreshing vibe.
-
Balcony or garden
Hoping to repel insects? Candle scents like citronella, eucalyptus, or lemongrass are the best choices. Want to rest(o) al fresco? Lavender and jasmine home fragrances will help you relax. And for a lively, fresh atmosphere, pick mint or lemongrass scents.
-
Bedroom
Your bedroom is your zen den and it should smell like it too. To create a peaceful retreat, look to home fragrances like lavender, chamomile, jasmine or vanilla – they all promote calmness and sleep. Dunno about you, but to us they sound haven scent.
-
Home office
Coffee: Brewed. Classical music: On. Still struggling to stay focused? Light a stimulating candle like peppermint, lemon, rosemary, or pine. Peppermint and lemon scents are great for increasing alertness, while rosemary and pine can help you concentrate.
Home fragrances for each season
When the seasons change, it’s only right that your scents change too. Okay, it’s policy. And we’re basically candle connoisseurs at this point so you’d do well to listen to us. I mean, you wouldn’t want a coconut and palm aroma in your house in the depths of winter now, would you? Well, perhaps you would and that’s perfectly fine. But we’ve picked out a few scents for each season that just feel *right*. So give these a go and let us know what you think…
-
Spring candle scents
Spring has sprung and you can finally hang your washing out on the line again! Hurrah. But that won’t be the only uplifting scent that helps you shake off those winter blues. Welcome in new beginnings and create a light, airy atmosphere with floral fragrances like lilac, rose and cherry blossom. Pop some candles in the hallway entrance with bamboo and herbal notes. Fill your kitchen with citrusy aromas such as lemon, grapefruit and bergamot. Ahh spring (and these savings) are in full bloom…
-
Summer candle scents
Alexa, play ‘Summertime’ by Will Smith. Welcome in the warm weather with summer candle scents. Opt for fruity fragrances like mango, pineapple and coconut in the bedroom to transport you to your favourite holiday destination or turn your bathroom into a cool, coastal oasis with ocean and marine scents. Freshen up the kitchen with cucumber, mint and eucalyptus. Relaxing? Yes. Rejuvenating? Of course. Way less than a holiday? Absolutely.
-
Autumn candle scents
Autumn, is that you? Yes it is and we’re all about the spice, spice baby this season. Create a warm, inviting environment in your hallway with cinnamon, clove and nutmeg.
