Our Workplace

Our business is made up of many incredible people who all bring their own unique qualities, experiences and views, reflecting the communities in which we work. We believe that everyone should work in an environment where they can flourish, regardless of their background. Quite simply, great people make our company great. As part of our commitment to support vulnerable children and help young people to fulfil their potential, we are proud to work with The Prince’s Trust on a number of initiatives to address barriers to employment.

The Prince's Trust Awards

TK Maxx and Homesense are proud sponsors of The Prince’s Trust Awards for the seventh year running. The awards recognise young people who have succeeded against the odds, improved their chances in life and had a positive impact on their local communities, as well as people who have played a part in supporting the work of The Trust.

Kickstart Scheme

TJX Europe has created over 500 new work placements across the UK as part of the government’s Kickstart Scheme, designed to support young people at risk of long-term unemployment. The Scheme provides an opportunity to learn new skills, gain work experience and build confidence, as well as specialist employability training in partnership with The Prince’s Trust, helping young people to secure sustained employment when their Kickstart-funded job ends.

Get into Programmes

The Prince’s Trust Get into Retail programme provides training, development, and employment opportunities for successful participants. As one of the largest partners of the Get into Retail programme, we are proud to have helped over 1,500 young people, with over 70% going on to get jobs with us.

Achieve Programme

Over £1.4 million has been raised since Homesense's national charity partnership with The Prince's Trust began in 2016. Funds raised have supported over 3,500 young people through the Achieve programme, designed to support disengaged young people back into mainstream education to better place them to progress into a positive future.

Inclusion & Diversity

We live and work in cities, towns and villages from Aberdeen in the UK to Zabrze, in Poland. We believe each of our associates brings something unique to our collective culture – a diversity of experience, gender, ethnicity, age, viewpoint and more. Diversity isn’t something we tick off a checklist, it’s something we’re proud of and celebrate.

At heart of our business is treating all of our customers and associates with dignity and respect and we have a long history, both as a retailer and an employer, of valuing diversity. We’re committed to creating an environment of inclusion in our business that reflects the wonderful diversity of our customer population, wherever we operate.
