"My adventure with TJX Europe began after I left Poland and went to Craigavon in Northern Ireland. I got to like the TK Maxx stores very quickly and this is why I decided to submit my application to one of them.

Soon I was invited to an interview and was offered a temporary contract. My desire to learn, work hard and my positive attitude were appreciated and I received a permanent contract soon afterwards.

For the past 3 years I have been trained and have worked in all areas, beginning on the registers, through various departments and finally in administration and the cash office, both of which involve responsibility and require an excellent knowledge of procedures and processes. The TJX Europe Associate Development Training Programme and the friendliness of my colleagues made it possible for me to acquire the new skills quickly.

Thanks to the fact that TJX Europe is a developmental and progressive company, I got the opportunity to work in Poland. I was given the chance to open new stores in Poland and I took it. I considered this to be a huge challenge and, at the same time, a most valuable experience in my professional career.

In less than six months I participated in opening five Polish stores. Soon after the first one, I was promoted to Team Leader because my experience, basic knowledge and commitment were noticed. I was responsible for training new Associates, helping to plan the display of merchandise in the store, supervision of compliance with basic principles and procedures and also the very process of adapting them to the Polish market.

Thanks to the fact that I got to know the ins and outs of the operational principles of the supply and administration system, staff organisation, circulation of money and the principles of store management, I was again charged and entrusted with the duties of Floor Manager.

I am pleased to have the opportunity to participate in TJX Europe's expansion on the Polish market because, with each new store and each new job and the challenges that go with it, I am acquiring new and invaluable experience. Because of this, I am aware of the fact that I am broadening my knowledge and skills and this gives me an opportunity for further development in the future. My career path is the best example of this.
