I joined TJX Europe in September 2008 after completing a degree in Retail Management. I had always had a passion for retail but TJX Europe could offer me something different, it's fast paced, a unique business concept and that's what attracted me to the company.

Since starting on the graduate scheme as an Allocation Analyst on the shoes department, I have progressed to an Assistant Merchandiser in the womenswear division. I am responsible for forecasting my business, partnering with my Merchandiser to ensure that we are driving profit on a daily basis. I also work closely alongside my Buying team who are out in the market and Stores Merchandising team to ensure we are all focusing on the same goals and following the same vision.

The business is growing across Europe, exposing everyone to different countries and showing us how the retail market across the world is so diverse. It also allows us to build relationships with our colleagues across the globe, one minute I can be talking to my merchandising counterpart in Germany and the next to my buyer in New York!

My development since joining TJX Europe has been fast paced and I have always felt supported along the way. From the graduate training onwards there is always something to challenge you to ensure that you are constantly growing. Individual development is always encouraged and last year I was lucky enough to represent TJX Europe along with 6 other graduates and take part in the 'Times Graduate Challenge'. This is team competition which allows you to work with your team mates and other people from top UK businesses to explore your team building skills and leadership qualities - an invaluable experience!
