Do you offer work experience or placements?
We'd love to offer you a peep at the inner workings of TJX Europe, but as we want to ensure that we'll be fully equipped to help you get the most out of a placement, this will depend on what you're looking for. We recommend that you contact the site you're interested in directly to find out. From time to time we may advertise placements on our Job Board so don't forget to check there too!
Is every vacancy shown on the website?
We have an internal succession rate to be proud of, so not every vacancy will make it as far as our external website. Whenever we are looking for external talent though, it'll be shown on our Job Board on this site. The only exceptions are loss prevention officers, store associates and team leaders in our existing stores, so if you're interested in one of those vacancies, you'll need to contact your local store.
I've heard there's a new store or distribution centre opening close to me - where can I find out details on your recruitment for this?
Look out for details of new site openings on this website, and we'll tell you how to apply.
Do you offer flexible working conditions?
We recognise the importance of achieving a healthy balance between work and personal commitments, so we have a Flexible Working Policy which applies to our Associates.
I'm not sure which vacancy to apply for based on my experience. What should I do?
You're in luck. We are always happy to accept speculative applications, so just find one of our "opportunities" positions on-line, apply and make sure you tell us a bit about yourself and what you enjoy doing. Then we'll contact you to discuss where your unique talents can make the difference in our business.
I need a work permit - does this affect which jobs I can apply for?
To join us you'll need the right to work in the country for which you're applying. So long as your permit covers the length of your contract and you can provide us with a copy before you start work, that'll be fine. For permanent positions we will require indefinite leave to remain. If you're at all unsure whether this applies to you, please check with us when you send your details.
I already work at TJX Europe and want to apply for an internal vacancy. Should I apply on-line?
You can check out how to apply on either the intranet or the Internal Vacancy Bulletin.
Can I apply by post rather than online?
If you're applying for a store, then that's perfect. You can get the application form on-line, from the store or a local JobCentreplus, fill it in and send it back to the store you want to work at. For all other positions we prefer you to apply on-line so that we can see your details just as soon as you submit them.
How will I know what's happening with my application?
As soon as your on-line application has arrived safely with one of our Resourcers, you'll get an email notifying you that we've got it. We'll then keep in touch with you either by phone or email as soon as we can to let you know what's happening.
I want to work for one of your divisions abroad. How do I apply?
For all those international ambitions, we have just the thing. We'll consider any application for positions abroad so long as you make sure you're ok with a few things. Firstly you may need to be able to speak a foreign language fluently in order to take on the position, so check this on the job requirements. Secondly, make sure you're happy with the location you're applying for, and if you're successful we may even be able to assist with any re-location. To check jobs in another country, click on the flag in the top right hand corner then go to the job search page. Viel Erfolg! / Good luck! / Powodzenia!
What will you do with my details?
We understand that your information is valuable so rest assured that we will treat it in accordance with Data Protection laws. If your application is unsuccessful, your details will be destroyed within a reasonable period of time. If the application was speculative, or we think we may have another suitable position for you in the future, we may hold the information for further period of time, but we'll let you know that we're going to do just that and always give you the choice to opt out.
What can I expect at an interview?
An opportunity for you to get to know us a little better and us to get to know you. So we'll ask you some questions and expect the same in return. Our Associates are passionate about being part of TJX Europe, so you'll be at an advantage if you've been to at least one of our stores and visited our websites.
If I'm successful, what kind of development will I get?
As a developing business, talent is key to all our Associates. You'll get a thorough induction wherever you start in our business and any technical training you need to get to grips with our business. Then, depending on the kind of role you're doing, or what development you want, you'll find an array of workshops, self-learning tools, coaching and mentoring options available to you.
If my application is unsuccessful, can I request feedback?
Of course. For most roles we will provide feedback as part of the process, or you can request it from whoever your contact has been. We'll give you constructive feedback and also invite feedback from you, whether you've been successful or not, on your experience of applying to us.
If I am unsuccessful, can I apply again?
You can apply again. If you have received feedback following an application for another role, you may be able to use this to guide on what kind of roles within our business would be best suited to your experience and ambitions.
