Our Culture

Our Culture

We have a fantastic, unique, off-price concept - to offer our customers labels for less. And we work hard behind the scenes to bring this to life for our customers and to stay true to the values we think set us apart.

Our Integrity

Openness and honesty is integral to everything we do as a business. Whether our role brings us into contact with vendors, customers or fellow Associates, we ensure that we treat everyone with honesty and respect. This helps us to build supportive working relationships and therefore a stronger business.

What makes us unique?

A quick glance at our product range will tell you we don't believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. And the same thing goes for our people. We value their diversity, and actively encourage different views, backgrounds and origins. It's this freedom that makes TJX Europe such a creative, energetic and fun place to work. But that's not the only thing we think sets us apart from other retailers.

We love a challenge

You'll find plenty of challenges at TJX Europe. They're what drive us to perform better and better, year on year. That might mean people in our UK & mainland European offices finding a new, innovative way of working that affects the whole business. It could be about recognising the impact of local festivals or celebrations on our product offer, or it could be something as simple as opening more tills during busy times in-store. However big or small the challenge may be, we learn from it and grow stronger.

We like to make things happen

With daily deliveries and an ever changing array of the best fashion and homeware brands, it's not surprising our people enjoy working in a fast-paced environment. Every day will bring new challenges and opportunities, fresh thinking is encouraged and wherever you are in the business you will be kept on your toes. It's no wonder other retailers are constantly playing catch-up.

Financial Strength and Flexibility

At The TJX Companies, Inc., financial strength and flexibility have always been cornerstones of the company's success. Our credit rating is one of the strongest in retail and this, along with our financial flexibility, gives us a great head start when it comes to snapping up the best deals.

Fresh thinking

We go to great lengths to encourage a creative, entrepreneurial spirit and non-hierarchical structure. Unlike most other retailers, we stock a huge variety of brands for less that changes every day. And you will help make this happen with a day to day that is less about routine and much more about fresh thinking and flexibility.

We take our responsibility as an employer seriously: We give you all the tools you need to deliver great results whether it is induction or supporting your career progression. We also believe it's important to recognise your achievements and reward them.

We are passionate about running a business that thrives on integrity and responsibility. We're committed to making a positive impact on our local communities and take a responsible and ethical approach to sourcing, trading and reducing our impact on the environment.

Contributing positively to the communities in which we operate is a fundamental part of how we do business. We're very proud of the passion and dedication our associates give to our community programmes. Our long-term charity partners include Save The Children, Comic Relief, Action For Children, Cancer Research UK, The Woodland Trust, Children for a Better World and Enable Ireland.

Alongside this involvement we have a strong environmental programme, with a focus on carbon reduction, which was recognised by the Carbon Trust Standard Award. We have the largest fleet of electric trucks of any retaile r in Europe - we won awards for these too. And most recently, we introduced a new lighting scheme in store, designed to reduce our energy usage by 30%.
